Tell me a little more about Sharon. Why, of all the RealtorsĀ® out there, should I should choose her and MidTN Home Team? Sharon’s a native Tennessean. This is what she looked like a thousand years ago in high school days. I grew up in Clarksville and know Montgomery County extremely well. You too? See if you can pass our Clarksville test!

But I’ve lived near Nashville — in Robertson County — for 20+ years.  I’ve sold homes all throughout middle Tennessee area. Unlike some Realtors, I’ll work in any of the contiguous eight or nine counties. And because I am an “ABR” (Accredited Buyers Representative), my emphasis is always on you. With Sharon, you get an authentic “home team” working for you, because she can help you locate all the puzzle pieces you need to complete the task of purchasing a home. The list goes beyond just finding a home and a RealtorĀ®, you know.

Learn something here about Sharon.

Her young life was fairly eventful because of some serious heart conditions, including open-heart surgery at Vanderbilt as a mere baby.  She thought she wanted to be a music major at college, but that path kind of changed when she started to work for an English professor at Austin Peay State University.  There, she fell in love with the written word, got her Bachelor’s from APSU and went onto graduate school at Purdue University (West Lafayette, Indiana — Boilers!) for her M.A. and Ph.D. She married the absolutely terrific Bill Robertson at Purdue, and the two of them together then lived in a bunch of places, including Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, where she taught various computer skills classes to Canadian clients, and they all loved her “Southern” accent: WYSIWYG (what y’all see is what y’all get!). But three Canadian winters (brrr-rrr) were quite enough, so we moved back to Tennessee. Sharon taught at Belmont University, where she served as the Director of the Liberal Studies Program, helping adult students complete their degrees.  (Bill has been a professor at MTSU for over 20 years)!  After Belmont, Sharon worked for Metro Government, training in various classes. Finally, she decided to start her own business because she enjoys not only the classroom, but the opportunity to talk to folks from all diverse backgrounds.  Her friend Becky (also a Realtor) said, well, because you like people so much, you should get your real estate license… And so she did, and now she’s eager to serve you. Because Sharon willingly admits how much she likes people, don’t be surprised if she wants to talk about her fabulously cute grandnieces.  Just sayin’…

So who else will you meet on your path to buying a home?  There are several pieces to the puzzle.  You’ll need:

  • a mortgage lender — and you should probably contact 2 or 3 to ensure you’re getting the best rates/terms
  • a home inspector
  • homeowners insurance
  • a “title” person that takes care of the legal transfer of property
  • a few others (such as termite inspectors and assorted handyfolk [plumbers, electricians, painters, etc.])

housepuzzleSharon will make the process as smooth and seamless as possible: it takes a team!
