We’re posting just a wee bit early this time, for two good reasons: 1) there are several significant events early in August, so we don’t want you to miss those, and 2) because school starts early in August, it’s likely your attention will be diverted towards the kids, so don’t overlook the great August events for yourself in and around #Nashville. Aug. 7-10: Highway 127 World’s Longest Yard Sale – stretches for 675 miles! 127sale.com
Aug. 9, 3:00-10:00 pm: Front Street Craft Beer Celebration, Westhaven Town Center, Franklin. Sample 30+ craft beers from local craft and micro-breweries. Concert music after dark. Westhavenfoundation.org
Aug. 12, 7:30 pm at the Schermerhorn. Boz Scaggs. My mother loved Boz Scaggs!
Aug. 13, 7:30 pm at the Schermerhorn: Lyle Lovett and his Large Band.

Aug. 16, 9:00-12:30: Undy 500. Walk of Fame Park (between 4th & 5th and Demonbreum). Grab the kids and the dog but leave your pants at home. At this Undy 5K run, you run in your underwear to bring awareness to colon cancer. Instead of a race tee-shirt, you get a pair of boxer shorts! Undy5000.org

Aug. 22: Southern Brewers Festival held in Chattanooga. Fundraiser to benefit Chattanooga Kids on the Block and Chattanooga Community Kitchen.
Aug. 23-24: Beersheba Springs: 48th Annual Beersheba Springs Arts & Crafts Festival at the historic Beersheba United Methodist Assembly Grounds. 150 artisans and craft vendors.
Aug. 24, 11:00 am: The Pink Bride. This Music City Center event is a collection of wedding professionals. Taste cakes, sample catering options, and enjoy choreographed fashion shows.
Aug. 25-26: Merle Haggard at the Ryman.
