July 2, 7:00 pm: A Star-Spangled Evening. The #101st Airborne Division Band, from Fort Campbell, KY, will join the Nashville Symphony for a selection of patriotic songs July 2 at Schermerhorn Symphony Center. Discount tickets for military. Nashvillesymphony.org
July 4, 8:00 am: 5K or 10K Run through downtown Nashville supporting the Salvation Army. Public Square Park.
July 4, 11:00 am: Hot Chicken Festival. 700 Woodland Street.
#July 4: Riverfront Park. Let Freedom Sing starts at 12:00 noon; main concerts begin at 6:45 pm; and fireworks will begin at approximately 9:00 pm.
July 10, 7:30 pm: Steep Canyon Rangers and Jim Lauderdale – part of the 2014 Bluegrass Nights at the Ryman.
July 12, arrive at 7:15 pm; run starts at 8:45 pm. Glo-Run is a 5k that takes place in the dark. Runners wear glow-in-the-dark gear, and run through a dreamworld of glowing wonders and music. LP Field.
July 16, 7:00 pm: KISS and Def Leppard. Bridgestone Arena. Two of the world’s greatest rock bands, KISS and DEF LEPPARD, are set to deliver a massive tour dedicated to fans who wanna rock and roll all night! These two legendary rock bands spanning two continents announced that they will launch the tour as KISS celebrates their 40th year in music.
July 19: 13th Annual Music City Brewer’s Festival. Walk of Fame Park (4th Ave S). Outdoor festival where you can sample brews from 40+ regional, national, and imported breweries. Session A runs noon to 4:00 pm; Session B runs 6:00 – 10:00 pm.
July 19, 7:30 pm: Gala of the Royal Horses. Bridgestone Arena. For the first time ever, riding Master Rene Gasser will bring his world-renowned equestrian tour to North America. Gala of the Royal Horses features a number of performances involving the Andalusian, Friesian, Lipizzaner and Arabian breeds.
July 25, 7:05 pm: Nashville Sounds vs. Oklahoma Redhawks. Greer Stadium.
July 26, 9:00 am: Ice Day at the Nashville Zoo. Popsicles for the animals and ice cream for the humans. Ice cream eating contest for the kids, and a water slide.

July 29, 7:30 pm: Sarah McLachlan at the Ryman. Getting back in the studio in 2013, McLachlan began to put together her much anticipated album Shine On. Its release in May of 2014 can’t come soon enough for fans that have waited four years for new material.
July 30, 7:00 am: American Idol Season 14 Auditions. Nashville Municipal Auditorium.
July 31, 7:30 pm: Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder – part of the 2014 Bluegrass Nights at the Ryman.
