A 40+ year #friendship

Here’s a little preview of our Summer newsletter. Seems a good fit for #ThrowbackThursday. It’s the story of how Sharon & Becky became #Your MidTN Home Team, and it’s a story about long-term #friendship.

As our 40 year class reunion approaches, we thought it might be fun to tell you a little about how we became “Your Home Team.” Sharon and I met each other as Sophomores at Clarksville High School. We were about as different as two young girls could be. I was the “New Kid” just moved to town from the Northeast. Coach McDaniel called me “Yankee” in our English class. Sharon was born and raised a Southern girl. I cared much more about chasing boys and trying to fit in—she was the smart one, always focused on her next “A”. I’m not saying she wasn’t fun—she was so silly and made me laugh all the time. She wasn’t really a “geek” either—although she was in the band. No, she had a personality and humor that people were just automatically drawn to. You just couldn’t help it. So I let her talk me into joining the band too—despite the fact that I had no musical talent what-so-ever. They let me become part of the flag corp. Hey, worked for me. The uniforms were hot pants and go-go boots—no kidding! This gig was a boy magnet!

So began our life journey together as best friends. We went to the prom together (with our dates), we drove our first cars together (just one teeny accident), we stayed in touch during the college years, we were at each others weddings, Sharon was in the delivery room when my son was born and these days, she has some very insightful conversations with my 5 year old granddaughter. We have truly been BFFs for over 40+ years. So it just seemed natural that we would come together as Realtors to form “Your Home Team” and share some of that #love we have for each other with our clients.

You won’t find a more dedicated, caring and professional team of Realtors. What do you want to know about real estate? Just ask, we’ll talk your head off. Our band teacher Mr. Morris, while fussing at us in class would say “don’t you girls ever run out of things to talk about?” – and in my yearbook Sharon wrote “No John, good friendships never die…”
